SHARON NARELLE DITCHBURN

Sharon Ditchburn is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, the Chartered Governance Institute (UK and Ireland), and CPA Australia, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holds legal qualifications from Australia.  She has been a Committee member of the Centre of Excellence for ESG for CPA Australia since 2018 and the Dubai Committee for CPA Australia from 2011.  In 2022 Sharon was appointed to the IFAC PAIB Advisory Group representing CPA Australia and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. 

She is one of the few individuals in the GCC certified by the IFC/World Bank to deliver their Director Development Programmes, and has been delivering Corporate Governance advisory and training programmes throughout the GCC since 2005. She is a delivery partner for Director/governance courses throughout GCC, Africa and Asia for a range of Institutes of Directors, Governance and Sustainability, Big 4 accounting and international consultancy firms, and a range of high profile professional training and development organisations. 

Sharon has wide-ranging experience at senior level, including as a Chairman, Director, CFO and Company Secretary in Australia and the UAE. Since 2004, she has worked with a wide range of listed, private and government owned enterprises in the GCC, including financial institutions, stock exchanges, private industrial firms, government departments and family-owned businesses. Sharon has been registered as an Authorized Individual by the DFSA, FSRA (ADGM) and KSE in the roles of finance, compliance and risk, with experience across over 30 investment banks, brokerages, trust companies and wealth managers  in addition to interim positions for compliance and general counsel at Nasdaq Dubai.

Sharon also has an MBA specialising in Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, during which she was a recipient of the Salvi Stenbro Prize in Ethics (QUT), and has been certified by the Association of Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialists (USA).
