OVERVIEW

Construction projects often face disputes that can disrupt timely delivery and overall project performance. Once disputes arise, they can demand significant time, money, and resources from project teams to reach a resolution. Common causes of these disputes include design issues, contractual breaches, delays, and unforeseen circumstances. Ignoring timely resolution can lead to financial losses, project delays, and strained stakeholder relationships, making effective dispute resolution crucial for successful project completion.

This two-day masterclass provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of construction project disputes and various alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms. Attendees will explore effective contract management strategies and acquire essential skills for proficient dispute resolution. Through an in-depth examination of ADR methods such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and adjudication, participants will discover time-efficient alternatives to traditional litigation, which can be costly and lengthy.

A key focus of this workshop is the Integrated Construction Enhancement Framework (ICEF), which offers strategic insights into managing disputes effectively. Participants will learn how to utilize ICEF to select the most suitable ADR methods based on financial constraints, organizational dynamics, legal requirements, and the nature of the dispute. This masterclass is invaluable for anyone involved in construction projects, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate disputes successfully.
